She was born on March 3, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. Following graduation from King's County Hospital School of Nursing, she joined the U.S. Air Force as a First Lieutenant and retired in 1976 as a Lt. Colonel.
During her 20 year Air Force career, she served in Japan, Germany (as a Flight Nurse), and Viet Nam (Chief Nurse Casualty Staging Unit), as well as at a number of stateside bases. Following her arrival at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center she developed and taught Genetics courses to physicians and
other medical personnel (1972-1976), becoming the only Nurse Geneticist in the Air Force. Among the honors Pat received during her Air Force career are the RVN Armed Forces Honor Medal 1 Class, RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and the Bronze Star.
Family and friends are invited to attend services at St. Matthew Catholic Church (10703 Wurzbach Road) on Friday, Sept 26, 2025 at 10 AM. Inurnment service will follow at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Parkway) at 1:30 PM. Those in attendance are asked to arrive at Committal Shelter 3.
