Founded in 1917 by veterans of the Spanish American War, VFW Post 76 is the oldest post in Texas and has long been a place where those who served everywhere from Normandy to Baghdad could meet up, socialize and help one another.

Chartered in 1917, VFW Post 76 is the oldest VFW Post in Texas. Located inside the historic Petty House along San Antonio’s River Walk, we proudly serve veterans, military families, and our surrounding community.

We honor the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans, advocate for those who served, and create opportunities for fellowship and community connection. Whether you are a veteran, a family member, or a neighbor, we invite you to learn more about Post 76 and become part of our community.
