Founded in 1917 by veterans of the Spanish American War, VFW Post 76 is the oldest post in Texas and has long been a place where those who served everywhere from Normandy to Baghdad could meet up, socialize and help one another.

VFW Post 76 hosts the annual three-day Fiesta event known as the “10th Street River Festival” April 23, from 3PM - 12AM and April 24 & 25 from 12PM - 12AM.

As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Thank you for your patience over the last month as we have been repairing and replacing flooring in our canteen area in the Petty House.  We will reopen the canteen on 5 February 2026 at 4:00pm. 
 


 
JOIN THE CONSERVATORS OF WORLD WAR II FOR A SPECIAL DEDICATION CEREMONY FOR "THE ROOF TOP OATH"
AT THE OLD AYERS BUILDING, 118 BROADWAY, 21 FEBRUARY AT 1:00PM TO 5:00PM 
This ceremony will honor the memory of the Marines who swore their oaths of enlistment on the roof of the Ayers Building before shipping off to the Pacific Theater during WWII.
